Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Setup Operator to join our team in O'Fallon, MO. The Setup Operator is responsible for setting up progressive dies in punch presses and operating the press to produce metal stamped parts according to blueprint specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up progressive dies in punch presses to prepare for production runs.
Assembles, installs and aligns dies in the press according to specification.
Adjusts ram to specified length.
Operate punch presses to produce metal stamped parts that meet blueprint specifications.
Feeds steel to the die using the straightener making necessary adjustments.
Submits first off sample to QA for approval.
Make necessary adjustments to equipment to maintain product quality and efficiency.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
Perform basic measurements and monitoring with caliper, micrometer, scale & gauges.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience as a Setup Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of setting up progressive dies and operating punch presses.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Physical Demands
Ability to talk, hear, see, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel.
Ability to frequently walk or stand for long periods of time for up to 10 hours a day.
Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, crawl, or kneel.
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. If greater than 50 lbs, will require assistance or the use of lifting equipment.
