Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to work on our Naval and Department of War Cloud-based infrastructure support team. This position supports the development, deployment and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud-based infrastructure solutions based around the Naval Harbinger contract and efforts.The main focus of this effort, and position's responsibilities, are designing, deploying, operating and maintaining multiple AWS, GovCloud, Azure, and Classified cloud-based environments. To execute these duties, this position supports client teams developing and enriching applications in the cloud, as well as providing core cloud service maintenance and support in both Classified and Unclassified environments, with the goal of providing a stable, secure, flexible, efficient, and cost effective CSO.The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: Linux Red Hat, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS components (Lambda, IAM, Load Balancers, RDS, CloudFormation, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SageMaker, Bedrock).ECS is an expert technology firm focused on Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud solutions as an AWS Premier Partner, Audited AWS Managed Service Partner and AWS Reseller. We specialize in migrating custom developed and COTS applications into AWS and offering a complete suite of managed service solutions for our customers to include design, architecture, DevOps, systems administration, big data, security, and 24x7 cloud support services.Note: To be considered for this role you have a currently active Secret-level Security clearance granted by the Federal Government.This position is initially located in Fairfax, VA. Once access and accounts have been granted, this position will move between Fairfax, VA and Arlington, VA dependent on requirement.Main Responsibilities include:Monitor and manage security compliance, remediations and patch management for both classified and unclassified environments. Evaluate customer issues and make educated decisions on technologies, tools and the overall delivery strategy.Evaluating and implementing proof of concept solutions that fits the need of the platform and client requirementsLeverage best practices to deploy and monitor deployments, facilitate management oversight, and put in place detection, incident-response, and mitigation practices to minimize and rapidly resolve discovered anomaliesPeriodically review and evaluate project progress and planned goals to anticipate development of new solutions, architecture designs, configuration-management practices, business intelligence, and technical documentationHave a solid understanding of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP Cloud Services, Network Infrastructure, Security Capabilities, Storage Solutions, Database Services/Tooling and Identity & Access Management capabilities to be able to engage with technical and non-technical leadership as well as product ownersParticipate in status meetings on progress, priorities, issues, performance issues, and future workThrive in a hybrid environment (split between on-site and remote), able to be on-site at 3-4 days as required to support customer and mission requirements.Successfully communicate to customers, program managers, industry partners, and Government representatives.Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience.Must have an existing and active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.Experience in the administration of Linux (Patch, STIG, configure, and troubleshoot).Expertise in DevOps, Gitlab, Configuration Management, Cloud Infrastructure, Automation, scripting experience with PowerShell and Python.Cloud Formation/Automation/ PowerShell / Comparable Linux Scripting.Experience building infrastructure as code (IAC) using Terraform.Experience with container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker.Hands-on experience implementing AWS components such as, but not limited to: Lambda, IAM, Load Balancers, RDS, CloudFormation, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SageMaker, Bedrock.Experience enforcing cloud security practices including configuring encryption, implementing VPC endpoint policies, bucket policies, and locking down security groups.Demonstrated, hands-on technical experience in Network and Transport protocols, tools, and techniques.Strong knowledge of IP Networking including VPCs, VPNs, VRF, DNS, load-balancing, and firewalls.Experience developing and maintaining systems architecture and configuration documentation.At least 10 years of experience with customer-facing cloud projects (AWS and/or Azure).Highly technical and analytical possessing 7+ years of IT platform implementation experience.A strong understanding of AWS and or Azure/cloud-based technologies with a desire to learn more.5+ years of relevant experience in a progression of roles to include delivering and sustaining technical and cloud solutions.Demonstrated customer focus and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communications skills.DOD 8570-01M certification: IAM Level I or better (e.g., Security+)Experience working within a classified cloud environment.AWS Certified Solution Architecture/Developer/SysOPS or AWS Certified Solutions Architect -Professional.Experience in the administration of Red Hat Servers (Patch, STIG, configure, and troubleshoot).Desired Skills & Experience:Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges.Advanced understanding of DevOps Continuous Integration/CD.Experience in communicating and demonstrating the value of technical solutions to a variety of stakeholders to address complex and competing drivers in complex technical environments.Deep understanding of Cloud-based data management and security.ITIL v3 Foundations.ECS Federal LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis any characteristic protected by law.
