Coloma Community Schools1st Grade Teacher26-27 School YearSummary:We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join our team at Coloma Elementary School as a full-time 1st Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in elementary education, a passion for teaching young children, and a desire to contribute to the success of our school.Responsibilities:- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students- Create a positive and safe classroom environment that fosters learning and growth- Assess and evaluate student progress on a regular basis using a variety of methods- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement school-wide events and initiatives- Attend and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and behavior- Perform other duties as assigned by the administration- Participate in New Teacher Academy at CCS, One meeting per month after school 4pm-6pm, first 2 years of employment at CCS as a teacherRequirements:- Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university- Applicant must be Highly Qualified and Endorsed for this position with a Valid MichiganTeaching Certificate (K-5 all subjects (ZC, ZG or ZO))- Prior experience teaching 1st grade or elementary education preferred- Strong knowledge of elementary education curriculum and instructional strategies- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students- Strong organizational and time management skills- Ability to maintain a positive and safe classroom environment for all students.Salary and Benefits:-Salary pay scale can be found here 25-26 Pay Scale-MPSERS Retirement System-District paid life insurance, LTD, sick and personal days-BCBS Medical Insurance(some plans free to employees), Cash In Lieu of insurance $6,000 annual, Dental & Vision-$1,000 Sign on Bonus-Longevity/Service Credit PayApplication Deadline: May 13th 2026New Staff Orientation August 18th & 24th 2026Opening Day All Staff August 25th 2026First Day of School with students August 31st 2026
