Linux Technician

Encantado Technical Solutions is seeking a Linux Support Technician to support the IT program at a major National Laboratory.In this role you will provide IT support and act as a routine point of contact for a specialized area of the Service Center. You will serve as a end user support technician for end users unclassified computing environments, specializing in Linux. You will receive and handle requests for support; respond to a broad range of service requests for support by providing information to fulfill requests or enable resolution. Strong customer service, communication and technical knowledge, with the ability to work independently and under pressure are essential to the role.DutiesAs a Linux support technician, you willWork and maintain queue, ensuring contacts are addressed using the priority matrix and the first in first out method.Provide white glove customer service to ensure customers are taken care of.Serve as escalated point of contact for the Service Desk and end users, for troubleshooting Linux specific issuesPartner with team members to educate with new solutions & assist other technicians.Participate in Linux training of new employees and peers. Responsible for the creation of knowledge using KCS methodology to be used by End User and Service Desk Support teams, and the transfer of that knowledge. .Participate in technical meetings with partner groups.Participate in deployment testing activities.Participate in service and process improvement projects.Conceptualize, construct, test, implement, and/or operate integrated infrastructure solutions. Test application compatibility & support cyber initiatives.Recognize and provide feedback to improve the service when identified. Possess the capacity to work independently & effectively while maintaining positive productivity levels.Other duties as assigned. Associate’s degree in relevant field plus 4 years experience, OR 7 years of experience related to the job in lieu of degree.Ability to obtain and maintain a Dept. of Energy Q Clearance.U.S. Citizenship.Required experience & skillsShould be trained in the prevailing operating system(s) & hardware systems used at the client site.Demonstrate formal customer service & technical trainingPossess experience with equipment & software installation & upgrades.Possess four+ years of demonstrated PC support, diagnostic/troubleshooting & repair experience, including a solid working knowledge of PC operations including hardware, operating systems and network settings.Desired experiences and skills includeBachelors degree in managing Information Systems or other relevant area.CompTia Certifications, such as A+ or Network+ are desired.Microsoft Certifications, such as MCSA Windows is desired.Active U.S. Government Clearance About Us Encantado Technical Solutions (ETS) is an unpopulated joint venture between Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc. and ECS Federal, LLC.
