Assistant Controller

Position SummarySeeking an Assistant Controller to support the accounting and financial operations of a growing, multi-entity organization. This role partners closely with senior finance leadership to oversee financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, acquisitions, system integrations, and other strategic accounting initiatives. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements for multiple business entities.Ensure accounting activities are compliant with GAAP and company reporting requirements.Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.Identify reporting discrepancies and recommend adjustments to improve accuracy and completeness.Monitor key financial and operational metrics and provide reporting to leadership.Support ERP and accounting system implementations, integrations, and process improvements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance accounting workflows and internal controls.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.Support mergers and acquisitions, including financial integration and onboarding of newly acquired businesses.Participate in inventory accounting and annual physical inventory processes, as applicable.Prepare financial reporting packages and present results to leadership.Assist with annual information reporting requirements (e.g., vendor tax reporting).Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.Partner with the tax function to support indirect and income tax compliance.Assist with treasury and cash management activities, including banking relationships and daily cash operations.Provide support on special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.Experience in a multi-entity environment preferred.Background in construction, engineering, manufacturing, distribution, or other project-based industries is a plus.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.Additional InformationOnsite position in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.Occasional travel (approximately 25%) may be required.
