About Fano Fano is an AI technology company focused on helping regulated enterprises safely adopt conversational AI across customer operations.Purpose-built for financial institutions and other regulated industries, Fano provides a Trusted Conversation Intelligence platform that enables organizations to better understand, oversee, assist, and progressively automate customer conversations through a phased and operationally responsible approach to AI adoption. Our platform combines conversational intelligence, real-time intent understanding, compliance risk detection, operational oversight, workflow automation, and multilingual AI capabilities to help organizations improve compliance visibility, strengthen operational performance, and build confidence in AI adoption. At Fano, we believe AI adoption in regulated environments must be trusted, observable, and governed. We help customers move beyond manual reviews toward real-time, evidence-based compliance transformation while creating safer, more efficient customer operations.About the role As regulators raise expectations for the responsible use of AI, financial institutions need a partner who understands regulatory complexity, operational risk, and how to deploy AI safely. That is where you come in.We are looking for a Consultant, Risk & Compliance Transformation to help customers use AI to transform how they monitor, analyze, and govern customer interactions — while reducing the regulatory and operational risks of AI adoption. You will work directly with clients’ Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to translate regulatory requirements, risk methodologies, AI governance needs, and compliance practices into practical workflows, controls, and configurations. This is a hands-on, client-facing role. You will act as a trusted advisor and evangelist for AI-enabled Risk and Compliance transformation — helping customers understand what is possible, shape use cases, and adopt solutions safely and responsibly. You will also work closely with Fano’s Product and Engineering teams to convert customer needs, regulatory expectations, and implementation learnings into product requirements, solution designs, and roadmap priorities. If you have worked inside a bank’s Risk or Compliance function and are excited to help financial institutions adopt AI safely, responsibly, and at scale, we want to talk to youWhat you'll do Advise clients and assess risk Serve as the trusted technical advisor to clients' compliance, surveillance, and control functions — interpreting regulatory expectations and risk appetite, and mapping them to what our platform can monitor, detect, and evidence.Lead intake, triage, and risk assessment of use cases, applying established risk-assessment frameworks and methodologies to identify exposures, control gaps, and emerging issues across compliance, governance, and AI risk.Produce clear, accurate, audit-ready materials — assessment write-ups, control mappings, and solution documentation — for examiners, senior management, and governance committees, with a coherent, risk-focused narrative that supports informed decisions.Design and deliver the technical solution Partner with Product and Engineering to translate regulatory requirements into system workflows, control frameworks, and product capabilities across compliance monitoring, governance, and AI risk management.Scope and lead proofs-of-concept and implementations — defining use cases, success criteria, and configurations grounded in each client's regulatory environment, then guiding design, testing, and deployment to production.Review AI models and solutions for risk, recommending appropriate controls in collaboration with data science and engineering teams, and ensuring deployments are transparent, monitored, and defensible.Lead end-to-end and govern responsibly Own the full solution lifecycle, from client intake through delivery to post-implementation optimization, independently managing wide-ranging engagements with significant complexity.Maintain and reconcile inventories of use cases, controls, and evidence, and track KPIs and key risk metrics so clients can demonstrate transparency and accountability to oversight teams and regulators.Act as the strategic bridge across Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market — ensuring execution workflows are auditable, repeatable, and aligned to clients' regulatory strategies — and feed field insight back into the roadmap.Stay ahead of regulatory change, emerging risks, and industry trends to keep our solutions forward-looking, adaptive, and credible with the most demanding institutions.Depth & scope Highly seasoned professional role requiring substantial expertise in risk and compliance and knowledge of broader related areas, including the technology underpinning AI solutions.Acts as a technical expert and lead, integrating cross-functional understanding within their own field of on complex, cross-functional engagements, solving — or guiding others to solve — ambiguous, high-stakes problems.Who you are Must-haves 10+ years in risk, compliance, or governance within banking or fintech — with deep working knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks, controls, and the regulatory environment.Advanced command of risk-assessment frameworks and methodologies, with a proven ability to design, enhance, and execute complex assessment processes and turn the results into strategic insight.Hands-on technical solutioning: experience working with product, engineering, or data teams on solution design, configuration, or system implementation — not policy alone.Client-facing credibility in consulting, pre-sales, or solution delivery — equally comfortable in front of a Chief Compliance Officer and an engineering team.Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to aggregate, quantify, and synthesize large, noisy datasets from multiple sources to surface patterns, trends, and control gaps.Exceptional written and verbal communication, translating complex regulatory and technical topics into clear, actionable guidance for diverse and senior audiences.Proven ability to lead end-to-end cross-functional programs and influence senior stakeholders, both internally and on the client side.Sound judgment and the highest standards of integrity when handling sensitive information and business-critical compliance processes.Strongly preferred Knowledge of AI/ML governance, model risk management, and regulatory expectations for the responsible use of AI, with a working grasp of model validation and ongoing monitoring.Experience with compliance management systems, risk control libraries, governance tooling, and enterprise reporting systems.Domain depth in conduct, surveillance, or financial-crime areas — e.g., BSA/AML, market conduct, consumer protection, or fair lending.Relevant certifications such as ACAMS, ABA CRCM, CERP, or an equivalent risk/compliance credential.Bachelor's degree in a related field; relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree. Why this role Define a category. Help shape how regulated financial institutions adopt AI safely — a problem regulators, boards, and CCOs are all actively trying to solve right now.Real influence, real delivery. Your expertise steers the product roadmap and lands in production with the world's leading banks — not a back-office advisory role.Trusted by the industry. Join a company already entrusted by leading APAC banks with their most sensitive compliance workflows, and grow with continuous learning and career development.
