Postdoctoral Associate Human Hepatic Models and Metabolism Studies
Title: Postdoctoral Associate, Human Hepatic Models and Metabolism StudiesLocation: Onsite, Pittsburgh, PA 15213Type: Direct-Hire/PermanentHours: Standard business hoursStart: MayOverview: We are loo king for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join a lab focused on discovering novel therapeutics. This interdisciplinary program develops advanced in vitro models of hematopoietic and immune system function such as conducting research at the intersection of microphysiological systems (Organs-on-Chips) and immunology. The role emphasizes modeling hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell biology and immune cell development in relevant microenvironments while integrating immune readouts with multi-system platforms to study host responses and therapeutic modulation.Responsibilities:Design and conduct experimental studies investigating hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell biology and immune cell development using advanced in vitro systemsEstablish and maintain multicellular cultures incorporating hematopoietic, stromal, and vascular componentsPerform and optimize assays to characterize immune cell populations, differentiation trajectories, and functional responsesApply quantitative techniques including flow cytometry, molecular assays, and functional immune assays to analyze experimental outcomesContribute to development and refinement of experimental workflows to enhance reproducibility and robustnessCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate immune-related findings with complementary biological and engineering systemsMaintain accurate and detailed documentation of experimental procedures and resultsAnalyze and interpret data, and contribute to preparation of manuscripts, reports, and grant applicationsMentor trainees and assist in training of laboratory personnel as neededRequirements:Ph.D. in Immunology, Hematology, Stem Cell Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related fieldExperience working with hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and/or immune cell populationsStrong background in cell culture and immune characterization techniquesDemonstrated ability to design and execute complex biological experimentsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred:Experience with in vitro hematopoietic or immune system models, including Organs-on-ChipsFamiliarity with flow cytometry, immunophenotyping, and multiparametric data analysisExperience with functional immune assays or host-response studiesExperience working in interdisciplinary teams integrating biology and engineering#M3Ref: #558-ScientificSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, TPGS, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America.
