This position plays a critical role in food safety by monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs) and ensuring compliance with HACCP plans, regulatory requirements, and Tyson policies and procedures in a fresh food manufacturing environment. Places product in designated areas determined by management.Mirror TrimmerThe Mirror Trimmer inspects product as it passes on the shackle line, trimming to remove any matter. Removes product from the shackle line and places on hang back racks adjacent to their workstation for later processing as needed. Removes limbs that have been marked by USDA and management. Trims away other undesirable matter from finished product.Backup RehangerRehanger hangs any birds not properly transferred from the initial lines to the eviscerating lines by the auto transfer machines and looks for Product to ensure it is placed properly on the line.Utility LaborerThe Utility Laborer is responsible for maintaining continuous product flow and supporting production operations in a fresh food manufacturing environment. This position relieves Team Members for breaks, fills in during labor shortages, and performs a variety of production support tasks while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all Tyson policies, food safety standards, and procedures.Utility Laborer Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain continuous product flow on production lines to support efficiency and throughputRelieve Team Members on the production line for breaks, lunches, and absencesFill in for open positions during labor shortages to ensure uninterrupted operationsPerform multiple production tasks as assigned, including but not limited to packing, sorting, staging, and material handlingAssist with product movement between production areas to prevent downtime or congestionMonitor work areas to ensure product quality, food safety, and sanitation standards are metFollow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to fresh product handlingAssist supervisors by responding quickly to changing production needsIdentify and report safety hazards, equipment issues, or product concerns immediatelyMaintain cleanliness and organization of production areas, tools, and equipmentComply with all Tyson policies, OSHA regulations, USDA requirements, and food safety guidelinesPerform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goalsFresh Plant Environment ExpectationsWork directly with raw and fresh products in a temperature-controlled environmentStrict adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirementsCompliance with food safety, quality, and contamination prevention practicesAbility to adapt quickly to changing line assignments and production prioritiesEducation And Experience RequirementsEducation:High School diploma or equivalent preferredExperience:Previous Manufacturing Or Fresh Food Production Experience PreferredAbility to learn and perform multiple production tasksSkills And CompetenciesFlexibility and willingness to work in multiple production areasStrong attendance and reliabilityAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsBasic communication skillsTeam-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to safety and qualityPhysical Demands And Work RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for the entire shiftAbility to bend, stoop, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motionsAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as requiredAbility to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistanceAbility to work in cold, wet, or humid conditions typical of a fresh plant environmentRequired use of PPE, including gloves, aprons, hairnets, and protective footwearWork ScheduleMust be available to work assigned shiftsOvertime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on production needsSafety and Compliance CommitmentThe Utility Laborer is expected to maintain a safe work environment at all times and strictly adhere to Tyson policies, food safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and plant procedures.
