Senior Accountant- Technical Accounting

TalentSource360 is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join an exceptional and rapidly growing government contractor here in the Washington DC region. Our client is delivering innovative technology solutions to a wide range of federal agency clients. Senior Technical Accountant Schedule: Hybrid 2-3 days per week (Fairfax area) Compensation: 110,000-120,000 Annual bonus eligibility Comprehensive benefits package Career development and growth opportunities This Senior Technical Accountant will be a key member of the corporate accounting team and will play a critical role in support both day-to-day accounting operations and complex technical accounting initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting principles, proven experience in either public accounting or a corporate environment, and the ability to interpret and apply technical accounting guidance across a variety of areas including revenue recognition, leasing, and business combinations. Key Responsibilities Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Research, interpret, and apply technical accounting guidance (U.S. GAAP) across key areas such as: Revenue recognition (ASC 606), Lease accounting (ASC 842) and Business combinations (ASC 805) Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages Partner with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Contracts, Operations) to ensure proper accounting treatment of complex transactions Support external audit processes and serve as a key point of contact for auditors Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to automation initiatives within the accounting function Ensure compliance with internal controls and government contracting requirements Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Active CPA license required 4+ years of relevant experience in public accounting (BIG4 or national firm preferred) and/or corporate accounting Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to apply complex guidance in a practical business environment Experience in government contracting or familiarity with related regulations (FAR, CAS) is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., Deltek, NetSuite, or similar) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
