Position Type:Certified - ProfessionalDate Posted:3/18/2026Location:Student ServicesDate Available:07/01/2026Closing Date:Until FilledInternal Transfer Deadline: 03/21/2026Note: Current employees MUST complete and submit the Internal Application Form via the districts electronic application system to be considered for a voluntary transfer.Internal Transfer Deadline 3/21/202615 Day Posting Deadline 3/31/2026TITLE: Coordinator of Gifted ServicesQUALIFICATIONS:Holds a Master's degree or non-degree fifth-year programHolds a certificate endorsement for teacher of gifted educationHas three years of gifted teaching experienceHas demonstrated evidence of educational leadershipHas demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and communityREPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Learning Support ServicesJOB GOAL: To coordinate all activities and ensure compliance with state and local statutes, regulations and policies and procedures related to gifted education.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan events and serve as gifted and talented teacher of record for all events/activities offered exclusively for gifted & talented studentsMaintain current working knowledge of developments and research related to gifted and talented studentsMonitor and assist schools with the identification of gifted and talented studentsMonitor and evaluate the implementation of gifted services in all schoolsMonitor and assist schools with the creation and implementation and evaluation of Gifted Student Services PlansWork collaboratively with instructional coaches to develop, implement and evaluate professional development training programs for district personnelWork with school administrators & instructional coaches in the improvement of individual staff competencies in relationship to students identified as gifted/talentedWork with school administrators & instructional coaches to effect horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of gifted services throughout the districtMonitor the implementation of KRS 158.007, 158.622 and 164.002 as they relate to gifted servicesWork collaboratively with instructional coaches to study, evaluate and, as appropriate, recommend adoption of new instructional materials, methods and strategiesAssist schools to increase the number of gifted/talented students participating in dual credit courses, Advanced Placement courses and exams and other challenging optionsProvide information and opportunities for parents of gifted and talented students on supporting and advocating for their children's needsMaintain liaison and active participation with educational leadersin gifted services at state, regional and national levelsPerform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as required by the immediate supervisorTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Salary12 monthsBoard approved 6-12-03, Revised 9-11-08
