Weekly Work Hours40Compensation RangeN04-PTSalary MinimumFLSAUnited States of America (Non-Exempt)Position TypeStaffPOSITION SUMMARYResponsible for developing a comprehensive student services program by coordinating programs involving recruitment, enrollment, course planning, implementation of activities, seminars and other events presented for student and participants.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of federal, state and community funding sources and mechanismsAbility to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.Ability to develop and produce grants and other proposals.Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise anddevelop statistical analyses and reports.Demonstrated skill level in the use of personal computers and related software applications.Establish and maintain working relationships within the Dallas College network and externalconstituents to ensure deadlines are met.Able to act as a liaison between the college location and external groups, businesses, schools, and universities, which requires the ability to refine, advance, and promote the support servicesfor the specific grant program.Ability to provide technical advice and information to faculty and staff in area of expertise.Must be able to interpret complex regulations and requirements.Demonstrate managerial skill that is responsible for providing a link between the specific grantprogram and Dallas College individuals and groups.Oral and written communication skills in order to support interaction with individuals from varying backgrounds.Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to create strong professional relationships withcolleagues, staff and clients.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of programs utilizing a variety of resources provided by Dallas College, community organizations, and other colleges, universities and related organizations to support current and potential program participants.Designs, directs, schedules, trains and offers seminars/workshops regarding college access, college success, financial aid, financial literacy, career exploration and test preparation.Researches and compiles statistical, narrative, financial, and demographic data for regular and special reports to track program participation, recruitment effectiveness, student follow-up, retention and transfer rates, etc., related to an assigned student population caseload.Adheres to strict student confidentiality guidelines, district policies and procedures.Builds and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal/external stakeholders and constituents within the Dallas College community network to promote student success programs, events, activities and initiatives.Serves as liaison between student program participants and various instructional and student services departments focused on increasing post-secondary success and completion.Participates in recruitment activities, registration, drop/add/withdrawal functions, and coordinates new student orientations and/or orientations as they relate to the department's purpose and services provided.Coordinates and provides program introduction meetings, workshops and/or seminars which include developing associated material to promote and inform as they relate to the specific student population served.Coordinates event logistics and evaluations.Makes presentations to small and large groups as a program and college representative utilizing excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills.Monitors specific budget allocations, including grant budgets.Assists in the solicitation of grant funds to further extend services to the student population served.Provides outstanding customer services.Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.Performs other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSNormal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Occasionally may be required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAssociate's degree.Three (3) years of experience in grant coordination and/or programmingOther Preferred Qualifications for Role (not mandatory, but advantageous)Bilingual or multilingual Preferred.Formal training and/or work experience in programming that promotes the annual persistence andgraduate rates of Participants from one academic year to the next (Objective A).Formal training and/or work experience in programming that improves the annual academic standing rates of Participants (Objective B);Formal training and/or work experience promoting college degree attainment rates (Objective C) for low-income and potential first generation college students.USDE Priority Trainings # 1 to #5USDE regulationsBlumen SoftwareStrategies for Creating Success in College and in Life*** Will be subject to a criminal background check.
