Teachers are responsible for using a classical Christian education model to teach students, develop virtue, and help each student grow into the individual God intends. Lessons are carefully planned to inspire and motivate students and to support them in reaching the learning outcomes. A successful teacher creates a nurturing environment where all students feel known and valued.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesApproach classroom instruction and student interactions from a Christian worldviewCollaborate with grade-level teams and department members to plan and implement the school's classical curriculumActively ensure academic growth in every student by utilizing a variety of instructional techniquesBuild partnership with parents through proactive communicationCreate a predictable and supportive classroom environmentIncrease professional knowledge by participating in professional development opportunitiesPrepare daily and weekly lesson plans to help students meet the learning goalsCommunicate regularly with parents by sending weekly updates via Microsoft Teams and emailsFollow through on routine job responsibilities including grading, record keeping, attendance, and lesson planningParticipate in collaborative evaluation processes with Division Head and Vice President for Academic AffairsAttend regularly scheduled faculty and grade level planning meetingsAttend school events outside regular school hours including, but not limited to Parent/Teacher Conferences, Curriculum Night, arts performances, Preschool Back to School BBQ, and professional development sessionsWork with assigned classroom assistant to deliver on the school's missionMaintain a learning environment that is organized and pleasant in appearancePerform other related duties as assignedAssist with playground supervision and specialist classesWork with school nurse, classroom assistants, and parents to supervise and distribute daily snacksSupervisory ResponsibilitiesNONERequirementsBA degree preferably in Early Childhood EducationAA with equivalent experience may be consideredCurrently held CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (with Epinephrine Auto Injector supplement included), or arrangements made to obtain certification within 90 days of employment start dateApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
