Accounting Manager
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support a commercial real estate portfolio on a Contract basis. This opportunity focuses on full-cycle property accounting for a group of retail and industrial assets, with hands-on ownership of daily transactions, close activities, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial property accounting experience, works confidently in Excel, and can step in quickly to help keep accounting operations running smoothly.Responsibilities:• Oversee end-to-end accounting for commercial properties, ensuring accurate financial records across retail and industrial assets.• Process vendor invoices and tenant-related transactions while managing both payables and receivables in a timely manner.• Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and complete detailed account reconciliations for assigned properties.• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to support accurate cash reporting.• Lead monthly close activities, including reviewing results, analyzing variances, and finalizing reporting packages.• Produce financial reports that summarize property performance and support management decision-making.• Use advanced Excel functions, including lookup formulas, to organize data, validate information, and streamline reporting.• Support audit-related requests and provide documentation needed for financial statement review processes.• Utilize property management and accounting systems such as Yardi when applicable to maintain records and reporting accuracy.• Prior experience in property accounting, including commercial real estate portfolios such as retail or industrial properties.• Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle accounting responsibilities from transaction entry through month-end reporting.• Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, and reconciliations.• Experience preparing journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reports for multiple properties or entities.• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP functions.• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and supporting audit or financial statement review activities.• Yardi experience is highly preferred.• Ability to work independently in a short-term Contract role and quickly adapt to existing workflows.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
