Line Cook

Dakota’s On The Cove is a waterfront restaurant in Throggs Neck with indoor dining, outdoor seating, events, and a growing beer garden-style operation. We are looking for reliable, hard-working Line Cooks to join our kitchen team and help execute consistent, high-quality food in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities Line Cooks are responsible for preparing and executing menu items during service while maintaining quality, cleanliness, and consistency. Responsibilities include: Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards Set up and stock stations before service Work assigned stations such as grill, sauté, fry, garde manger, or prep Maintain consistency in portioning, presentation, and timing Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures Communicate clearly with chefs, managers, and other kitchen staff Assist with prep work, receiving, labeling, and inventory rotation Keep workstations clean, organized, and properly stocked Break down and clean stations at the end of service Support the team during busy service periods, events, and seasonal volume Follow all health department and company policies Qualifications Previous line cook or prep cook experience preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment Strong knife skills and basic cooking knowledge Reliable, punctual, and professional Able to follow recipes, instructions, and portion standards Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Food Handler’s Certificate preferred, or willingness to obtain one Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and takes pride in putting out consistent food.
