Our team values collaboration, technical expertise, and continuous improvement.What You'll DoAs the Senior Thermal Engineer, you will play a critical role in advancing Coilmaster's heat exchanger technology and the engineering tools that support our products. This position sits at the intersection of thermal engineering, product development, and software-enabled modeling. You will lead the development and validation of thermal models, support new product innovation, and enhance proprietary engineering applications used for equipment selection and performance prediction.Key responsibilities include:Lead thermal design and performance analysis of fin-and-tube heat exchangers for HVAC and refrigeration applicationsDevelop, implement, and maintain physics-based thermal performance models used in engineering softwareTranslate laboratory and field test data into validated computational models for production useOwn the accuracy and consistency of engineering calculations across selection and simulation toolsPartner with software teams to integrate, test, and maintain engineering models within applicationsInvestigate and resolve gaps between predicted and measured performance through root cause analysis and model refinementDrive continuous improvement in modeling methods, validation standards, and engineering processesSupport new product development through model-based evaluation from concept through productionCollaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and cost-effectiveContribute to value engineering and product optimization initiatives balancing performance, manufacturability, and costWhat You'll NeedBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required7+ years of experience in heat transfer, HVAC, refrigeration, or thermal systems designMaster's degree or PhD preferredStrong expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanicsDirect experience with heat exchanger design and performance modelingAbility to build engineering models using first principles and empirical correlationsProven programming experience using Python, MATLAB, or similar toolsExperience validating models using laboratory or field performance dataUnderstanding of fin-and-tube manufacturing processes including fin forming, tube expansion, brazing, and assemblyAbility to evaluate tradeoffs between performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliabilityExperience with engineering software, selection tools, or simulation platformsExposure to C#/.NET or similar environments preferredStrong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, software, and manufacturing teamsHigh attention to detail, technical ownership, and problem-solving capabilityWhat You'll GainOpportunity to lead innovation in advanced thermal engineering and product developmentCompetitive compensation packageMedical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage401(k) with company matchingPaid time off and company holidaysCareer growth within a global organization backed by Berkshire HathawayCollaborative environment where technical expertise drives business successFollowing receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.We are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class.
