Control Engineer
Contract to Hire OR Permanent Opportunity: Controls Engineer$60/hour + Overtime (contract)$120k + Overtime (permanent)In this role, you'll be the critical link between the project teams and the installation partners, ensuring automated systems are installed, commissioned, and operating flawlessly on time and on budget.This is hands-on field work that blends technical expertise with advanced troubleshooting and PLC programming. You'll work across multiple industrial facilities, manage complex technical challenges, and take direct ownership of project success from start to finish.What You'll DoLead detailed system reviews, startup procedures, and commissioning of automated equipmentProgram, modify, and troubleshoot systems using Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, and Schneider Electric platformsTrain operations and maintenance teams; mentor installation contractors to ensure work meets design intent and quality standardsDiagnose and resolve complex mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control system issues in real-timeImplement quality control measures and generate comprehensive installation/commissioning reportsCommunicate with BlastOne team and project partners; identify and mitigate risks; ensure projects stay on schedule and on budgetProvide technical assistance both on-site at facilities and remotely to keep systems running smoothlyWhat We're Looking For3–5+ years in industrial controls, automation, or field serviceProven expertise with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Schneider Electric)Strong ability to diagnose complex and intermittent system failuresSolid understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systemsExperience commissioning and troubleshooting industrial equipmentAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and layoutsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and remote meeting toolsLogistical Requirements:60–80% field work at customer locations (various industries)Travel up to 5 days per week (US & Canada)Valid US PassportStandard M–F schedule with flexible extended hours during commissioning
