Senior Project Engineer – Transportation & Infrastructure Location: Chicago, IL (Project‑based / On‑site as needed)Acclaim Collier Engineering is a fast‑growing infrastructure consulting firm delivering complex, high‑impact public transportation projects across the Chicago region. Due to rapid growth and a strong project backlog, we are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team and help lead the delivery of major public infrastructure projects.This is an opportunity for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys project ownership, real decision‑making authority, and direct access to leadership.What You’ll DoLead and support the delivery of large‑scale public transportation infrastructure projects from construction through completionServe as a key point of contact for public agency clientsOversee schedules, coordination, field activities, and technical execution across multiple projectsCollaborate closely with contractors, inspectors, utilities, and stakeholdersApply engineering judgment to resolve construction‑phase challenges and project risksWork directly with the CEO and senior leadership on project strategy and executionProjects range from approximately $200M to $5B+ and may include roadway, bridge, transit, rail, and utility‑heavy infrastructure work.What We’re Looking ForRequired:~5+ years of experience in civil / transportation / infrastructure project deliverySolid understanding of construction‑phase execution (not design‑only roles)Civil Engineering background with practical field or delivery exposureExperience working on public sector projects or utility‑intensive private workAbility to work onsite or from project offices as required by project needsPreferred (not required):PE license (strongly preferred, but not mandatory)Experience with agencies such as CDOT, CTA, IDOT, Illinois TollwayBackground in construction management or field engineeringWork EnvironmentPrimarily weekdays: occasional weekends may be required based on construction schedulesLocal travel only (Chicago area projects; not out‑of‑state travel)Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $110,000 – $120,000 (hourly‑equivalent; paid hourly)Health InsurancePaid time off and holidaysLong‑term stability backed by a strong and growing public‑sector project backlogWhy Acclaim CollierYoung, fast‑growing firm with top‑tier public clientsSmall, tight‑knit team where your impact is visible and valuedDirect access to the CEO and real influence over how projects—and the company—growSignificant career runway for engineers who want to take on leadership over timeAdditional Job Application TermsThis job is part of LinkedIn’s Full-Service Hiring beta program.
