Provide design assistance and coordination for Product Development. Create BOM’s; ECO’s for engine specs, process specs, and drawings. Provide guidance to drafting/CAD operators. Consult with suppliers/customers on designs and specifications. Recommend Engineering changes and ensure timely and accurate preparation and implementationPosition ResponsibilitiesPerform a variety of engineering assignments related to new product development and/or enhancement of existing productsResponsible for creation & development of new design concepts from layout through final drawingsConduct and/or support analysis of mechanical system & component designs (FEA, static, dynamic, etc)Provide guidance to drafting/CAD operatorsInvestigate and resolve Discrepant Material ReportsInterface with internal manufacturing teams/operators on designs and specificationsSupport component resourcing projectsConsult with suppliers/customers on designs and specificationsEstablish and execute program schedulesReview and evaluate results/conclusions of projectsExecute product development & certification programs necessary to achieve strategic business objective(s)Coordinate activities with Engineering Manager, Program Management and other Program Managers as required to ensure common business and development goals will be achievedMay be required to interface with suppliersQualificationsPosition Requirements:Knowledge ASME Y14.5 GD&T drafting standards Design / modeling / drafting experience with 3D CAD solids based parametric modeling systems (Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge or Siemens NX preferred) Structural / thermal / fluid Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience (ANSYS preferred)Education RequirementsMinimum Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years’ work experience Master's Degree with 2 years work experience desirableAdditional Competency RequirementsTeamwork approach, presentation skills, ability to resolve conflictsStrong organizational, interpersonal and communications skillsAbility and willingness to travel 25% as necessaryKnowledge of FAA regulations and certification experience is desirableWorking knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies desirableLicense and Certification RequirementsSix Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is a plus Private pilot’s license desirable but not requiredEEO StatementTextron is committed to providing Equal Opportunity in Employment, to all applicants and employees regardless of race, color, religion, age, national origin, military status, veteran status, disability, sex (including pregnancy and sexual orientation), genetic information or any other characteristic protected by law.Preference given to Veterans of the U.
