We have a unique opportunity for a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Texas (Houston, Austin, Dallas, or San Antonio) supporting the West Central Region.Your responsibilities will include development and implementation of geotechnical data collection programs, geotechnical analyses, preparation of reports, development of contract documents, and providing support during project construction. Each day, you will have the opportunity to follow projects from concept development through the construction phase with our engineers.This position requires a geotechnical engineer who has a wide variety of industrial design and construction experience, who wants to function as part of a large interdisciplinary design team, who can interact with our existing and perspective clients, who can provide support to business development efforts, and who will assist the regional business group and geotechnical leadership in advancing the technical capabilities of the regional office and global geotechnical group.We'll expect you to:Perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, including test borings, rock coring, test pits, cone penetration testing, hand augers, and other methodsPerform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures, deep foundations (drilled shafts, piles), and shallow foundations.Prepare boring logs and subsurface profilesDesign of shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures.Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses.Perform geotechnical analyses with computer programs such as: SETTLE3D, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, GRLWEAP, DeepEx, SLIDE or SLOPE/W, MATHCAD, FB-MultipierDevelop geotechnical engineering reports.Design Ground Improvement including aggregate piers, deep soil mixing, rigid inclusions, chemical grouting, etc.Develop Contract documents including drawings and specificationsWork in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams from across North America.Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable, and meet all assigned project deadlines.Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.Here's what you'll needAt least 4+ years of geotechnical consulting experience with water and transportation related projects.Experience in field assignments that will include observation of explorations (soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing), and laboratory testing of soils and rock.Design and installation of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; and inspection of earth retaining structures, deep foundations inspection and testing (drilled shafts, driven piles), and shallow foundations, and trenchless pipe installation.Preparation of calculations packages, technical reports, design drawings, and specifications.Experience with Plaxis is a plusBS in Civil EngineeringIdeally, you'll also have:* MS with concentration in Geotechnical Engineering* Professional Engineering (PE) license#LI-KS6Posted Salary Range: Minimum85,000.00Posted Salary Range: Upper154,750.00Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
