Key Responsibilities and Duties
Lead process design, validation, and improvement initiatives in an aseptic manufacturing environment.
Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and P&IDs for pilot and commercial production lines.
Create and manage technical documentation, project plans, and schedules.
Ensure compliance with GMP and FSMA regulations.
Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch documentation.
Lead equipment qualification and validation programs (IQ/OQ/PQ).
Define operating parameters and acceptable process ranges.
Evaluate manufacturing capability for new and existing products.
Support new product development and pilot plant trials.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement root cause analysis solutions.
Drive continuous improvement and yield optimization initiatives.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
Identify cost reduction opportunities, capital improvements, and equipment upgrades.
Develop ROI analysis and technical proposals for capital projects.
Assist with training operators and maintenance teams on equipment and sanitation procedures.
Support scale-up from pilot plant to commercial production.
Qualifications
Needed:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5+ years of experience in food processing or food manufacturing
Experience scaling production from pilot plant to commercial manufacturing
Strong background in aseptic processing and sanitary design principles
Experience creating PFDs and P&IDs using CAD software
Experience working with PLC and HMI automation systems
Knowledge of food processing equipment sizing and specifications
Experience writing technical documentation, SOPs, and project proposals
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD tools
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with production and technical teams
