This role will partner closely with a team of talented managers to support sanitation and custodial operations within the VA healthcare system.Shift AvailabilityMultiple shifts available based on operational needs, including evening, overnight, and weekend schedules.Location:VA Portland Health Care System3710 SW U.S. Veterans Hospital Rd.Portland, OR 97239Pay Range$27–32/hour depending on experienceKey Responsibilities (What You Will Do)Lead and support Environmental Service Technicians (EVS) during assigned shiftsEnsure sanitation and custodial services are completed in accordance with healthcare cleaning standardsMonitor staff performance, attendance, and operational coverageCoordinate response to sanitation, safety, or operational concernsAssist with shift scheduling, coverage coordination, and staffing communicationConduct quality inspections and support quality control proceduresEnsure proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, microfiber systems, and safety signageSupport infection prevention and healthcare sanitation standardsCommunicate operational issues, deficiencies, or urgent concerns to management promptlyAssist with onboarding support and day-to-day staff guidanceMaintain professional communication with management and facility personnelEnsure work areas remain safe, clean, and compliant with operational standardsRequired SkillsMinimum one (1) year of housekeeping, EVS, custodial, sanitation, or janitorial leadership experience preferredHospital or healthcare environmental services experience strongly preferredExperience overseeing teams in fast-paced operational environments preferredStrong communication, organization, and leadership skills requiredAbility to manage multiple priorities and respond to operational needs quicklyStrong attendance, professionalism, and reliability requiredAbility to stand, walk, bend, push carts, and perform physical tasks throughout shiftMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds when requiredMust read, understand, speak, and write English fluentlyHigh school diploma or GED preferredMust pass federal background screening, fingerprinting, and onboarding requirements before starting employmentAdditional InformationFederal contractor position supporting the VA healthcare systemCandidates cannot begin work until onboarding and background adjudication are completedUniforms requiredWeekend and holiday availability may be required based on operational needsHealthcare sanitation and infection prevention training providedSalary is commensurate with experience.Dynamic Integrated Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer which is committed to a diverse workforce and considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, gender/sex, marital status, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, military/veteran status, citizenship status, the basis of genetic information or any other group protected by Federal or State law or local ordinance.
