Senior Controls EngineerStatus: Exempt (salaried)Department: 294 ElectrolyzersPosition SummaryThe Senior Controls Engineer is a critical member of the North American execution team. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system for hydrogen generation, compression, storage, and dispensing equipment/facilities at various Plug Power customer locations. Hydrogen infrastructure performance is largely dependent upon establishing and supporting the proper software programming. The Sr. Controls Engineer creates the base programs to be used in new production as well as helps remotely manage the active fleet of equipment while optimizing system performance and limiting equipment failures/downtime. By partnering with the engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams the Sr. Controls Engineer will develop a thorough understanding of the performance requirements of the hydrogen systems and continually refine controls to enhance system reliability. This role is vital to support Plug Power technology in the field while also furthering the Company's reputation as the industry leader in hydrogen applications.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deploy software solutions for hydrogen generation, compressions, storage, & dispensing systems focused around process control and optimal system performanceCreate and manage programs for Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)Create and manage methods for data acquisition and interpretation of system informationProvide leadership when deploying software solutions for H2 infrastructure to ensure appropriate communication and achievement of deliverablesPerform system tests to ensure that software and automation solutions are effective and reliable both pre and post deploymentCreate and provide training to users on system interfacing and troubleshootingContinually engage with H2 generation & infrastructure stakeholders to understand H2 system performance needsRefine system automation and software solutions based upon field data and stakeholder inputManage the engineering change process around software releasesDevelop, read, and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Electrical Schematics as neededRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBS degree in Engineering, Information Systems or other relevant field of studyFive (5) or more years of relevant work history; experience developing HMI & PLC solutions for field applications preferredPrior experience with gas processing and/or refueling systems preferredExperience withPLC Programming - Ladder Logic, Functional Block Diagram, Sequential Flow ChartsHMI ProgrammingSchneider automation suite (Citect, Vijeo, Unity, Modicon, etc)Allen Bradley (RS Logix, Factory Talk, etc)Modbus ProtocolData managementSQLMicrosoft Office suiteAbility to travel as needed to carry out duties of the position - up to 20%Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailSuperior communication skillsAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPay Rate:$92,300.00 - $138,400.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
