Responsibilities and Authorities: Provides nursing care to patients of all agesConducts an initial and ongoing assessment designed to gather data relevant to the patient's individual needs and age groupRecovers surgical patient receiving anesthesia following established routineAssesses and provides for patient needs of daily living, privacy and safe environmentAssesses symptoms and changes in patient's condition and responds appropriatelyInitiates nursing orders and notifies physicians as indicatedAdministers medications and completes treatments accurately and on timeResponds in a therapeutic manner to patient behaviorPractices Medical-Surgical AsepsisResponds to emergency situations appropriatelyPractices department and unit standards of careDemonstrates proper telephone and intercom etiquetteKeep abreast of new changes occurring in the Surgery DepartmentKeep abreast of new techniques and proceduresUnderstand and perform standardization of set-upsEconomical use of suppliesKnowledge of fire and disaster procedureKnowledge of cardiac arrest proceduresKnow location of fire alarms, fire extinguishers and fire hosesTakes PACU call as assignedPerforms other duties as assignedII.
