Software Applications & Data Program Manager
Overview
In this role you will act as the air traffic controller for the Mill Commercial software platform, coordinating multiple software teams and critical data integrations. You’ll align priorities across engineering, product, and partners while navigating shifting requirements. You’ll drive clarity in a fast-paced, complex environment and provide executive visibility on resourcing, schedule, and risk. This role directly supports launching an end-to-end platform that helps prevent food waste in commercial environments.
ResponsibilitiesTrack resourcing across software teams and applications on the Mill Commercial platform and flag gaps before blockersServe as Scrum Master and Jira lead for the SW Applications & Data teamOwn key third-party data integrations, customers, partners, and vendors, including data requests, schema, and API connectionsBuild and maintain the integrated software deployment schedule across Fleet Management, UI Design, and Data IntegrationsRun regular executive updates on resourcing, scheduling, and budgetTurn shifting requirements into a shared set of priorities for engineering, product, and partnersSurface risks, blockers, and scope creep with context for execs to enable fast decisionsMap dependencies across teams (SW, firmware, data, CV) to catch cascading blockers
Key requirements8+ years of SW program managementGen 1 software product experienceSoftware and firmware knowledge (on-device and cloud)Data integration expertise (APIs, flat-file ingestion)Strong cross-functional executor coordinating eng, product, ops, salesTechnical depth to engage with engineers and scope tradeoffsExperience shipping software products through pilot to commercial deploymentClear, direct communicator capable of succinct executive and partner briefsFluency with AI tools for meeting summaries, requirements drafting, and data synthesisAdvanced use of program management tools like Jira and Notion with Scrum ritualsExperience coordinating dependencies across multiple engineering disciplines (full stack, CV, data integrations)Clear and direct communicationCross-functional collaborationAmbiguity tolerance and problem solvingSoftware and firmware knowledgeData integration (APIs, data schemas)AI-powered workflows and tooling
