Job Title: Project Engineer

GroffJulius is a design-build general contractor focused on Agricultural Construction, based in York, PA. GJ specializes in feed manufacturing, grain processing, and transload facilities. We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our fast-growing organization. You will be a key leading team member in the engineering department of an exciting agricultural construction company. This position will be involved in projects from conception through post-construction. You will completely engineer systems to help us build functional and well- designed solutions that meet our customers’ needs.
Responsibilities:
Own project design decisions from concept phase to post construction.
Work directly with business development, estimating team, and customers to ensure all design specifications are met.
Utilize field measurements and drone models to develop site layout plans.
Create and review customer approval drawings.
Review and approve vendor approval drawings.
Create 2D and 3D assembly drawings to show how systems are assembled for construction.
Identify potential operational and fitment issues and bring awareness of potential problems to the appropriate parties.
Provide support for Sales, Project Management, Purchasing, Production Engineering, and Manufacturing.
Ability to project and monitor workload status of engineering and drafting departments, advising of difficulties in accomplishing schedules or availability for additional work.
Ability to plan time estimate for all engineering and detail work on projects. Communicate time estimate to department leader.
Develop project plans and monitor their progress and accomplishment.
Provide timely solutions to field problems and delegate revisions.
Keep constant communication open between Project Management, Purchasing, Sales, Contractors, and Engineers.
Ensure information is disseminated timely and accurately.
Conduct periodic site inspections and field measurements as required.
Qualifications:
Thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
2D and 3D experience; SolidWorks preferred, AutoCAD
Sheet metal design experience and understanding preferred
Experience in construction industry with understanding of installation practices
Understanding of drafting and dimensioning standards
Microsoft Word, Excel, Project
