Elementary and Secondary SchoolsJunior CollegesComputer Systems Design and Related ServicesColleges, Universities, and Professional SchoolsSoftware PublishersJob Title: Development SpecialistLocation: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid / Mostly Remote)Duration: 05/11/2026 – 11/30/2026Hours: Part-Time – 10 Hours/WeekPosition SummaryThe Arizona Talking Book Library is seeking an experienced Development Specialist to lead fundraising and donor engagement efforts in support of its mission, “That All May Read.” The library serves individuals with visual, physical, or reading disabilities by providing accessible library materials in audio, braille, and alternate formats.This role will serve as the primary fundraiser and relationship manager for donors, corporations, foundations, and nonprofit partners. The ideal candidate will have strong fundraising experience, grant-writing expertise, and established community relationships within Arizona.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to increase charitable contributions.Research and identify prospective donors, corporations, and grant opportunities.Build and maintain relationships with major donors and community stakeholders.Develop and manage donor databases, giving histories, and stewardship activities.Monitor fundraising campaign performance and provide progress reports.Create donor communications, grant proposals, reports, and marketing materials.Coordinate donor cultivation activities including meetings, tours, and events.Attend and collaborate with Arizona Friends of Talking Books board members.Ensure consistent branding and messaging across fundraising initiatives.Work closely with library leadership to evaluate fundraising effectiveness.Required Skills & QualificationsStrong experience with fundraising and donor development strategies.Knowledge of accounting and recordkeeping practices.Experience building community relationships and donor networks.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Experience researching and writing grant proposals.Ability to manage relationships with foundations and high-net-worth donors.Ability to track, analyze, and report fundraising activities.Preferred QualificationsExperience with donor management software/CRM tools.FPCC certification preferred but not required.Knowledge of estate planning and charitable giving laws.Prior nonprofit or library fundraising experience is a plus.Work EnvironmentMostly remote position with occasional onsite meetings in Phoenix, AZ.Flexible work schedule within business hours (8 AM – 5 PM).Candidates must currently reside locally in Arizona and be available for in-person interviews.
