CTAC Access Control & Security Technician (Access Control Focus)

We are looking for a key individual to join our Central Technical Assistance Center (CTAC) team in a role that directly impacts the safety and security of K12 students and staff across West Tennessee. This is a territory-based position where you will be the dedicated technical expert responsible for both reactive service and proactive system management for our contracted clients. The Focus: System Management & Access Control Expertise As the dedicated CTAC Technician for West Tennessee, you will be accountable for the performance and reliability of all security systems within your territory, particularly those under CTAC Service Agreements. Your Core Responsibilities: CTAC Agreement Management: Proactively manage and maintain customer access control and video security systems under contract. This includes executing preventative maintenance, system health checks, and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance. Avigilon Access Control: Serve as the primary expert for the service and advanced troubleshooting of Avigilon Access Control Manager (ACM) and all related door hardware (readers, locks, and network controllers). Territory Service: Efficiently manage a workflow that balances remote technical support (from the Jackson location) with frequent, scheduled, and emergency onsite service calls within the West TN region. Video Security & Integration: Troubleshoot and maintain Avigilon Video Security systems and ensure seamless, robust integration between the video and access control platforms. Support for K12 Clients: Provide clear, professional technical guidance and training to school administrators and facilities staff on the proper operation and management of their security and classroom technologies. Qualifications & Requirements Experience Required: Minimum of one (1) year of professional hands-on experience specifically with electronic access control systems installation or service is required. Technical Acumen: Familiarity with Avigilon platforms (or similar enterprise-level security systems) and a solid understanding of low-voltage electrical and wiring principles. Networking Knowledge: Foundational knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, device configuration) is necessary for working with networked security devices. Logistics & Drive: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be prepared for regular travel across the West Tennessee territory. Strong organizational skills are a must for managing your territory inventory and schedule. Compliance: Successful completion of a comprehensive background check is mandatory for employment, due to the nature of working in K12 school environments. Why Central Technologies Inc.?
