Interior Designer II - Asset Strategy

NELSON is currently seeking Interior Designer IIs to join our Asset Strategy Practice in Atlanta. The Interior Designer II is responsible for interior design assignments and working with the project team to provide design support in project administration, design development, and drawing production in all phases. Candidates should have strong Revit skills, presentation skills, and experience with conceptual design. Experience with: tenant improvement (T.I.) projects, repositioning, amenity additions, interior build outs, building additions, lobby renovations, full-floor renovations, corporate center expansions, and working with landlords/brokers/building owners is preferred.Attributes To Support The NELSON CultureGo All In. They may be subject to change at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.Required Knowledge And SkillsProficiency in Revit is requiredProficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural DesktopProficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and OutlookProficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferredBasic knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriatenessBasic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models.Basic knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art signage, color and materials to carryout design intentKnowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.Basic knowledge of the construction process as it relates to the drawings being producedAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to organize and prioritize tasks as needed to complete within the identified time frame and/or deadline.Knowledge of expectations related to high quality service to clientsPossess basic hand and CAD drafting skillsPossess space planning skills and interest in programmingBasic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign preferredBasic proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Viz 2006 preferredBasic proficiency in Deltek Vision or VantagepointEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Conduct field surveys as required; Field surveys must be easy to read and thoroughAssist in preparation of drawings for all design phasesUpdate design documents as needed for all levels of designersDevelop solutions to technical and design problems following established standardsPrepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawingsBuild models for client/project team reviewProvide research and compile data during design phasesPrepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc.Participate in design charrettes and project team meetingsParticipate in client meetings as directedParticipate in the construction process as requested (site visits, punch lists, submittals, shop drawing review, etc.)Attend “lunch and learn” events and other vendor presentations on an ongoing basisComplete timesheet daily and expense reports accurately and on-timeAssist in the programming phases as directedAssist with the schematic phases as directed (sketching, input of sketches, modification of schematic test fit plans, etc.)Possess basic knowledge of project budget and schedules as well as understands responsibility to adhere to set parametersEducation / ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited University PLUS:5+ years’ experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience working in the field of Architecture.National salary range: $50,000 – $80,000 (5+ years experience). Additional compensation includes bonuses and benefits (compensation factors are based upon years of relevant experience, qualifications/licensure, education, and location.)
