Data Analyst - Part time

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Data Analyst. Our client is an insurance firm looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability.Lead Data Analyst for short-term support engagement: 10 hrs/week for less than 3 months.Support ad hoc Tableau reporting requests incoming from slack channel.Team supports 30 reports, 3 of those reports drive 90% of views from HR staff, sourced by SQL server to Tableau server to Tableau desktop.Borrowed analyst would get access to the servers and Tableau desktop via creator license and AD groups over < 3 day setup. Sensitive HR data on the server.This role is providing short term coverage for the following job description:Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers in order to drive business decisions and address business questionsCreates and is accountable for high quality, value driven work that drives business outcomes; places the user in the center of decision making; and collaborates with team for speed, agility and innovation in workCreates and produces forecasts, reports, dashboards, etc. to tell a story through dataUtilizes analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts that impact the business (costs, risks, etc)Deliver results to Department leaders and Business ClientsDelivers results, insights and recommendations (written, verbal, presentations, etc) to business audience to support business decisionsProduce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problemsDeep expertise in a least one business area or domain, with a broad understanding of the business and domains surrounding the main focusTakes & applies design direction. Applies data visualization best practices to work deliverables.Seeks to understand business process, user tasks, and as necessary, captures refined process documentsImplement best practices, methodologies, standards and processes and share across teams. Occasionally contribute to the development there of.Owns analytics products and reporting environments end-to-end (as applicable), including governance and lifecycle management, setting standards, documentation and partnering with technology teams to manage access controls, provisioning and supportTakes initiatives to design and develop deliverables based on interpretation of findings and business client needs on a wide range of analytical topicsProvides consultation to business clients and may participate in cross-functional teams to address business issuesServes as a trusted, consultative partner to business clients (including senior leaders) from intake through recommendationOwns benchmarking and external data participation to provide internal and industry contextContributes to the growth & development of the organization through actively sharing result & insights across the teams and with Business ClientsIdentifies & captures business requirements, develops KPI frameworksRegularly applies new perspectives, creative problem solving, and inter-departmental connections to improve analytical capabilitiesEmbrace continuous learning, curiosity, and ambiguity.
