Job SummaryThe Associate Electrical Engineering Technician - Substation supports engineering teams by performing technical tasks that require an intermediate understanding of engineering principles and practices. The role utilizes digital tools and design software to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation and project deliverables, with opportunities to begin providing guidance to less experienced technicians. This position is specifically focused on electrical drafting and is based in the Chattanooga, TN office to support a local client.Job DescriptionSupports engineering teams by performing technical tasks that require an intermediate understanding of engineering principles and practicesUtilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverablesMay begin to provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineering technicians.Experience with substation work preferred, including schematics, wiring, and site layoutsRole is based specifically in the Chattanooga office to support a local clientMust be within commutable distance to the Chattanooga officeSkills Required2–3 years of experience with Autodesk AutoCAD (MicroStation a plus) · Electrical-focused role requiring 2–3 years of drafting experience for electrical projects (no civil focus)Continues to learn and remains current on standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and policies and proceduresBegins to proactively apply knowledge of the Quality Program to ensure deliverables are accurate and compliantDemonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management effortsBroadens the use of applications to continuously evaluate and improve methods, processes, and proceduresCreates and develops deliverables based on a variety of design inputsMay perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checksAssists in coordinating deliverables with other groups involved on the same project to minimize interference or errorsFocuses on the needs of internal clients while gaining basic understanding of external client interests and driversProactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processesEducation/Training/CertificationsHigh School Degree or GEDGAS Global Services LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
