Construction Project EngineerA growing general contractor specializing in public works, healthcare, education, federal, and institutional construction is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support projects throughout Southern California. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional looking to gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents on technically challenging public and institutional projects.The Project Engineer will support project documentation, RFIs, submittals, procurement, subcontractor coordination, cost tracking, scheduling, quality control, and closeout while developing toward increased project management responsibility.ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordinationPrepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentationReview plans, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documentsMaintain drawing logs, submittal logs, RFI logs, procurement logs, and project recordsCoordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and project stakeholdersAssist with subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, and buyoutTrack long-lead materials, equipment, and project deliveriesAssist with change orders, pricing, cost tracking, and budget updatesSupport project schedule updates and monitor upcoming milestonesAttend project meetings and assist with meeting minutes and follow-up itemsPerform site walks and assist with quality control and progress documentationCoordinate inspections and required project documentationAssist with punch lists, closeout documents, warranties, O&M manuals, and final turnoverSupport compliance with company safety and project-specific requirementsQualifications2+ years of Project Engineer or related commercial construction experience preferredBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferredGeneral contractor experience preferredExposure to public works, healthcare, education, federal, institutional, or commercial construction is a plusAbility to read and understand construction plans and specificationsFamiliarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentationStrong organizational skills and attention to detailComfortable working between the office and active construction sitesStrong written and verbal communication skillsMotivated to develop into an Assistant Project Manager and Project ManagerCompensation & BenefitsHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time offLife insuranceProfessional growth and advancement opportunities
