Active TS/SCI w/Polygraph REQUIRED** Please do not apply if you do not currently possess this level of clearance.Telework: NoneBasic Requirements20 years’ experience as a system engineerBachelor’s degree in a technical discipline5 additional years of experience as a system engineer may be substituted for a degreeJob DescriptionThe System Engineer shall be responsible for providing support for a large-scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all of the compute, network, memory, and storage system components. In addition, the System Engineer shall maintain the system security integrity and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.Required ExperienceExperience using the Linux CLIExperience developing scripts using Bash/PythonExperience performing System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large scale Linux cluster environmentGeneral technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system componentsExperience with Red Hat Satellite systems management solutionExperience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution Experience with configuring and sustaining a VMware ESXi/Virtualization environmentExperience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible Experience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and proceduresExperience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios Experience with containerization technologies such as DockerDesired ExperienceExperience with container orchestration technologies such as KubernetesExperience with distributed files systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, and HDFSExperience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and ConfluenceSalary: $255,000 - $265,000 annuallyExcellent benefits package including 25 days PTO, 11 paid holidays, 100% employer-paid healthcare for employees and dependents – available day 1, 8% 401(k) employer match – immediate vesting.Disclaimer: The salary range provided is an estimate based on current market conditions and may be adjusted based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
