Labor Law Legal Secretary/Assistant
Small, established, 6-attorney law firm located in the Central West End is seeking a reliable and organized legal secretary/assistant to support their legal team. Firm predominantly represents labor unions. The caseload will focus on labor/union matters with some workers' compensation and personal injury work. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professional, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment. Essential functions of the role include: prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence; transcribe digital dictation; file legal documents with the courts (electronic and physical filing); maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, and deadlines; answer phones and communicate with clients in a professional manner; and organize/ maintain client files (electronic and paper). Qualified candidates will previous legal secretary/assistant experience (or education surrounding being a legal secretary); knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat; strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multitask; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and ability to work well independently and with others and maintain confidentiality. Experience with e-filing systems preferred. Associate's Degree or legal assistant certificate preferred. Competitive salary range.
