Technical Manager – Marine CoatingsOverviewWe are supporting a growing international organisation within the marine and heavy industry coatings sector in their search for a Technical Manager to lead their global technical function.This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all technical operations, including field service support, product application, inspection, and customer technical assistance. You will act as the technical authority within the business, ensuring high-quality service delivery, strong customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across global operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage global technical operations, including field service and product applicationAct as the senior technical authority for complex issues and customer supportManage, develop, and mentor the technical and field service teamStandardise processes and drive continuous improvement across technical operationsOversee planning and delivery of field service activities and inspectionsCoordinate with customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful executionManage technical equipment, ensuring availability, compliance, and cost controlEnsure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standardsSupport budgeting, resource planning, and cost optimisationKey RequirementsDegree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related fieldNACE / AMPP / FROSIO Coating Inspector certification (required or strongly preferred)Proven experience in marine coatings, technical services, or a related sectorExperience leading or supervising technical or field service teamsStrong technical knowledge of coatings application, inspection, and performanceAbility to manage global operations and work across multiple environmentsStrong problem-solving and stakeholder management skillsCommercial awareness with a focus on efficiency and cost controlYou will be based from home, however you must be willing to travel internationally when needed.
