Oncology Opportunity: 65% Benign Hematology Focus in South Carolina We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician specializing in Oncology to provide locum tenens coverage close to LONG CREEK, South Carolina. This opportunity arises due to the loss of a provider, and the position offers an engaging work environment focusing on both outpatient and inpatient oncology care. Schedule and Responsibilities: Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Weekend and On-Call: No call required during the locum period; potential on-call duties if transitioning to a permanent position, with a call schedule of 1 week out of every 6-8 weeks. Patient Demographics: Adult and geriatric patients Clinical Focus: 65% benign hematology and 35% malignant oncology Team Composition: Work alongside 7 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers (APPs) Patient Volume: Average of 25 outpatient and 20 inpatient encounters per day Essential Duties: Active participation in the Tumor Board Management of bone marrow transplants and blood bank operations Order tests and imaging as necessary Prescribe and manage patient treatment plans Work with nurse oncologists for the administration of chemotherapy Qualifications: Board Certification in Hematology & Oncology - Required Active South Carolina medical license (open to providers needing to obtain a license) - Required BLS and DEA certifications - Required Additional Information: Electronic Medical Records System: EPIC Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60 Days This is a remarkable opportunity to join a reputable team and contribute significantly to cancer care in South Carolina.
