A & P Mechanic

Job Description Salary: Must be able to Independently perform inspections, maintenance and repair of complex aircraft systems and structures.Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the company and its clientsStrong analytical skills, project management experience and independent problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAssists with projects and/or other techniciansBasic knowledge of FAA Part 135 and Part 91Ability to multi-task and complete work within assigned timelines under minimal supervisionMaintain flexible work schedule to meet assigned aircraft demandEnsure compliance and safety through effective understanding of safety requirements and acceptable documentation proceduresMaintain inventory at the assigned baseMaintain professional and courteous manner with all employees, co-workers, vendors, clients, customers, and members.Repair and maintain machinery and equipment, as necessary.Perform all aspects of aircraft maintenancePerforms maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data required in the manufacturers instructions for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices, company policy and procedures and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.Ensures the shop premises are maintained in a clean and orderly manner prior to and following work shift.Properly records the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record.Coordinates with the inspection department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.Properly completes maintenance tack cards, work order sign-offs and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.Properly identifies/tags customer property and equipment. Stores aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.Follows standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment (external power carts, hydraulic power units, hydraulic lift platforms, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, etc.).Ensures that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.Uses material tracking system to create parts demand and to charge labor to work orders, items and squawks.Properly collects and disposes of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic and de-icing fluids, and solvent rags.Maintains a neat and organized work area and help with the general daily housekeeping of the department.Properly uses and maintains company-provided tools and equipment. Returns items to designated storage area after use.Applies Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.Assists with projects and/or other technicians.Assesses requirements of assigned tasks to procure required materials and documentation for signed tasks.Requirements:Minimum of High school diploma or equivalentActive FAA A&P License2-years corporate experience or four years of military aviation maintenance experience preferredMove up to 85 pounds on a frequent basis and 100 pounds on an infrequent basisMust supply own tools for daily use (specialty tools will be provided as needed)Must be in compliance with FAA drug program, and will be subject to onboarding and random drug tests (Marijuana is considered illegal under the FAA)Must pass a national background checkBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offLicense/Certification:FAA A&P License (Required)
