Project Development Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Project Development Engineer to join our growing industrial construction and maintenance team. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who enjoys working with people, solving customer problems, and developing long-term client relationships within industrial markets.
The Project Development Engineer will work closely with industrial customers to identify project opportunities, develop solutions, support estimating and proposal efforts, and help grow both project-based and recurring maintenance business. This individual will serve as a key link between customers, operations, engineering, and project execution teams. This person will develop initial project plans, then efficiently and effectively turn over the project to operations.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with industrial customers and key decision-makers
Identify and pursue new project and maintenance service opportunities
Support the development of proposals, estimates, and customer presentations
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and estimating teams to develop practical customer solutions
Conduct site visits and customer meetings to evaluate project needs and maintenance opportunities
Assist in developing and expanding long-term maintenance service agreements
Help customers identify improvements related to safety, reliability, maintenance, and operational efficiency
Maintain regular communication with customers throughout project development and execution
Support business development initiatives and strategic growth efforts
Track opportunities and maintain accurate sales activity records
Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
Preferred disciplines:
Mechanical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
2–6 years of post-college professional experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability
Ability to build trust and relationships with customers
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
Willingness to travel locally and regionally to customer sites
Preferred:
Experience in industrial construction, maintenance, manufacturing, or engineering environments
Exposure to piping systems, structural steel, mechanical equipment, industrial electrical systems, or maintenance operations
Experience supporting project estimating, proposals, or customer development activities
Understanding of industrial project execution and maintenance environments
