Sanitary EngineerWater System Computer Operator (Full-Time)The Medina County Sanitary Engineer is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Water System Computer Operator within the Water Division, located at 791 W. Smith Road, Medina.Responsibilities: Monitor and operate the computerized control system that oversees the Medina County water distribution system and sanitary sewer lift stations, ensuring system integrity, safety, and timely response to operational issues. The selected candidate will monitor the computer system controlling water distribution, including pump stations, water storage tank levels, chlorine levels, flow rates, power and phase loss alarms, and security alerts such as unauthorized site entry. The position also involves monitoring sanitary sewer lift stations for system failures or performance issues, identifying power failures or phase loss conditions and notifying appropriate personnel, answering incoming telephone calls, and responding to emergencies, complaints, and service issues.The operator will dispatch field personnel as needed to address system concerns and perform various clerical and technical support tasks while maintaining accurate logs and records of system activity and incidents.Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Working knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, or comparable software.Shift: 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Tuesday through Saturday. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed, as this position supports a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week operation.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively, particularly in emergency situations.Compensation:Starting rate: $20.00 per hourSecond shift differential $.60 per hourAdditional $1.50 per hour weekend premiumThe successful candidate must pass a background check, driver's abstract, and complete a pre-employment drug screen.Submit resume: ewalter@medinacounty.gov
