As the Senior Fulfillment Planner on Day Shift, you build and maintain the labor and wave plan that supports all three shifts in our Columbus fulfillment center. You translate inbound volume, backlog, and priorities into a clear, executable plan that operations runs against each day.Day to day, you’re in the WMS and planning tools building wave plans and allocating labor across pick, pack, and replenish. You work closely with Wave Planners, Operations Managers, and Inventory Control to keep execution on track. Some parts of the role are analytical—forecasting volume, reviewing performance trends, and shaping the labor plan. A large part is real-time execution—adjusting waves mid-shift, reallocating labor, and making decisions that directly impact throughput.You sit at the intersection of planning and operations, owning the plan and updating it as conditions change. Operations executes against your plan, and you’re responsible for adapting it when reality shifts. If you’ve primarily executed someone else’s plan, stayed in a purely analytical role, or prefer stable inputs and defined playbooks, this will be a tough fit. This role requires real-time judgment and the ability to hold your ground when the plan needs to change.Who You Are3+ years in fulfillment, distribution, or warehouse operations with direct experience in labor planning, wave planning, or production control (distribution-focused, not manufacturing)1+ years hands-on in a WMS (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or similar), including releasing waves, managing backlog, and troubleshooting execution issues in real timeExperience building labor plans using inputs like volume forecasts, UPH, and available headcount across multiple workflows (pick, pack, replenish, receive)Proven experience adjusting plans mid-shift in response to volume changes, staffing gaps, or workflow bottlenecksExperience influencing Operations or shift leadership using data and judgment, without direct authorityAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, basic modeling) used regularly to analyze performance and inform decisionsExperience partnering with Operations, Inventory/ICQA, and Workforce Planning to resolve constraints and keep work movingComfortable switching between floor execution and system-based planning throughout the dayYou’re genuinely excited about using AI to improve how you plan and make decisions—whether that’s analyzing data faster, testing scenarios, or increasing accuracy in real timeHow You Will Make An ImpactOwn daily wave planning for Day Shift, releasing work in alignment with labor capacity, order priority, and downstream constraintsBuild and maintain the labor plan that supports all three shifts, allocating headcount by function based on volume, priorities, and available staffingAdjust labor allocation and wave sequencing in real time as conditions change during the shiftPartner with Wave Planners to ensure work is executed according to plan and prioritiesWork with Operations Managers to align on execution and adjust when conditions on the floor require changesMonitor throughput, backlog, and labor utilization to identify gaps and improve in-shift executionCoordinate with Inventory Control and other partners to resolve workflow bottlenecks and keep work movingImprove planning accuracy and consistency by refining processes and tools based on day-to-day execution learningsPhysical RequirementsThis position requires regular physical activity in a fast-paced fulfillment center environment. The physical expectations of the role include:Ability to stand for extended periods of time with scheduled breaksAbility to walk the equivalent of 10,000+ steps per dayAbility to lift and move items up to 20 lbs multiple times per hourFrequent pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and repetitive motion throughout the shiftAbout CompensationWe use a market-based approach to compensation.
