Project Accountant - Construction

We are one of Atlanta's most reputable construction general contractors! We are looking for a detail oriented Project Accountant to support financial operations across active construction projects. In this role, we work closely with project teams, vendors, and clients to ensure accurate billing, timely payments, and well maintained project documentation. Key Responsibilities Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable & Vendor Management:Prepare and submit owner billings in accordance with contract requirementsProcess AIA billings, including lien waivers, sworn statements, and supporting documentationTrack billing status and assist with collection efforts when neededEnsure all billing deadlines are met accurately and on scheduleReview and process subcontractor and vendor invoicesVerify coding accuracy and route invoices for approvalMaintain subcontractor compliance documentation (COIs, W-9s, lien waivers)Respond to vendor and subcontractor payment inquiries in a timely manner Documentation, Compliance, Communication & Collaboration:Maintain organized and up to date electronic project and accounting filesEnsure documentation meets company standards and is audit-readyAssist with internal and external audit requestsSupport project closeout activities, including final billing and documentationPartner closely with Project Managers and internal accounting teamsCommunicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, and vendorsProvide timely responses to financial and project-related inquiriesContribute to process improvements and promote consistency across projects What you need:3+ years of Accounting Experience1+ years at a construction company preferredBS in Accounting or related field BenefitsBase ($80,000-$90,000) + Bonus401k MatchFull Medical, Dental and VisionGenerous PTOPaid Holidays and Sick time
