This role contributes to accurate records management, efficient onboarding and offboarding processes, and compliance with employment regulations and internal policies. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, responsive, and comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.This is a 2026 internship running from June through December (approximately 28-30 weeks). The expected start date is flexible depending on academic schedules. Some flexibility in start and end dates may be accommodated. There is a possibility of extension as well.Your ResponsibilitiesRecords Management // Maintain accurate digital and physical employee records including contracts, leave documentation, and personal dataOnboarding and Offboarding // Coordinate new hire processing including background checks, system access, orientation, and separation documentationCompliance Support // Assist with maintaining compliance with federal and state labor laws and internal human resources policiesRecruitment Assistance // Support recruiting efforts by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidatesProfessional Development // Stay current on human resources best practices through training, professional development activities, and certification opportunitiesYour SkillsetRelationship Building // Ability to establish credibility and trust with employees and leaders across all levels and remote locationsCommunication // Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionallyStrategic Thinking // Ability to connect human resources activities to broader business goals and outcomesTime Management // Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentTechnology Proficiency // Comfortable working with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office SuiteMinimum QualificationsA high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one (1) year of human resources experience. An equivalent combination may be considered.Employment Law Knowledge // Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and labor relations principlesHR Practices Knowledge // General knowledge of HR practices including HRIS administration, Form I-9 compliance, recruitment support, onboarding, unemployment administration, and labor relationsPreferred QualificationsAn associate’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, and at least three (3) years of experience in a human resources support role. An equivalent combination may be considered.Professional Certification // SHRM-CP or similar human resources certificationIndustry Experience // Experience working in the transportation or logistics industrySalary and ScheduleSalary // Pay will be competitive and commensurate with experienceSchedule // This position is located in Fargo, ND and is on-site.
