The role requires deep expertise in legacy system modernization, production support, and end-to-end development across mainframe environments. The ideal candidate should be capable of working in complex, high-volume transactional systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams.EligibilityApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without immediate sponsorship.Eligible visa types include: H4 EAD, L2S, GC, USC, TNKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications.Work on large-scale batch and online processing systems.Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Perform impact analysis, debugging, and production support.Lead system enhancements, upgrades, and performance tuning.Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders.Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.Support data migration, system integration, and modernization initiatives.Handle incident management and root cause analysis for production issues.Required Skills & TechnologiesProgramming Languages: COBOL, JCL, REXX, Assembler (nice to have)Mainframe Technologies:CICS (Customer Information Control System)DB2 (Database management)VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method)IMS DB / IMS DC (preferred)Tools & Utilities:Endevor / Changeman / Panvalet (version control)File-AID, Abend-AID, Expeditor (debugging tools)TSO/ISPFBatch Processing: Strong expertise in scheduling tools like Control-M, CA7Database Skills: DB2 SQL, performance tuning, query optimizationMiddleware/Integration: MQ Series (IBM MQ), API integration (preferred)DevOps Exposure: Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines for mainframe (preferred)Operating Systems: z/OSPreferred QualificationsExperience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance (BFSI) or healthcare domainsExposure to mainframe modernization (integration with cloud, APIs, or distributed systems)Experience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperienceMinimum 10+ years of relevant mainframe development experienceProven experience working on large enterprise systems and high-volume transactionsWork PreferencesCandidates open to relocation will be given preferenceAlternatively, candidates should be flexible to work across 2–3 U.S. statesAdditional NotesNo third-party or consultancy resumesStrong preference for candidates with stable work history and hands-on experience
