Job DescriptionTitle: Sr. Director - Investor RelationsReports To: SVP of Investor RelationsLocation: This role will be hybrid, based in our NYC or Pittsburgh OfficeGet To Know The RoleWe are searching for a Sr. Director of Investor Relations who will be a key contributor to the success of American Eagle Outfitters’ Investor Relations program. This position reports to the SVP of IR/Corporation Communications and partners with senior leaders in creating and communicating AEO’s messaging objectives and initiatives for investors and analysts.This role will be responsible for developing the company’s external communications and overall messaging to investors and analysts, which includes: effectively communicating the company’s strategy and on-going initiatives through in-depth knowledge of the business and retail sector, discussing the company’s past financial performance and long-term financial goals, and fostering strong relationships with our financial community. This role requires deep capital markets expertise, strong public company experience, and the ability to build credibility and trust with analysts and investors through high-quality disclosure, proactive engagement, and thoughtful market insight.What You’ll DoDevelop a deep understanding of the AEO, Inc. company strategy, operations and financial history and engage with business partners to stay up to date on the Company’s business initiatives Establish credibility with investors and analysts through comprehensive knowledge of financial statements, financial forecasts and overall business initiatives, including merchandising and marketing efforts.Effectively communicate AEO’s unique attributes, long-term strategy, growth opportunities, and financial performance to investors and analysts.Perform peer benchmarking analysis including financial modeling and develop a deep understanding of critical KPI’s and performance across the specialty retail group.Build and foster strong relationships with analysts and investors through frequent communication and contact. Identify opportunities for attendance and participation at investor conferences in order to stay current on investor expectations of AEO and represent AEO to the financial community.Create communication materials for quarterly earnings public conference calls including press release, script and Q&A prep. Coordinate communication by working closely with Legal, Finance, Corporate Communications and Brand Teams.Develop and manage investor outreach strategy and targeting, including investor marketing road shows, in order to enhance the Company’s shareholder base.Create presentations for investor meetings – write scripts for Executive officers and company representatives. Prepare company executives for their interaction with the investment community, including Q&A prep materials and educating them on investors’ backgrounds and history with the Company. Provide insight on the investment community’s perception of the Company to the Executive Leadership Team. Distribute competitive news and industry information to senior management to keep them up-to-date on investor expectationsWhat You BringBachelor’s degree required in Finance, Accounting or related field. MBA or CFA designation preferred.Minimum 10 years of professional experience in investment banking, business development, finance, planning or strategy. Retail apparel sector experience preferred. Superior financial and investment analysis capabilities, including clear and thorough understanding of financial modeling and valuation techniques used by investment professionals.Deep knowledge of the retail apparel industry and investment community. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships across the organization and with the investment community.Effective organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.Results-oriented, high personal integrity and strong work ethic.Pay/Benefits InformationActual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.Subject to eligibility requirements, associates may receive health care benefits (including medical, vision, and dental); wellness benefits; 401(k) retirement benefits; life and disability insurance; employee stock purchase program; paid time off; paid sick leave; and parental leave and benefits.Paid Time Off, paid sick leave, and holiday pay vary by job level and type, job location, employment classification (part-time or full-time / exempt or non-exempt), and years of service.
