Associate Attorney

Location/Remote: Onsite in Denver, CO, 80203Employment Type: Permanent / Direct HireCompensation: $130k–$160k base salary (depending on experience)Performance Bonus: $30k - $50k (depending on performance)Responsibilities:Manage insurance defense cases from initial evaluation through settlement, mediation, or trial, including auto, premises liability, and general liability matters.Develop case strategy, assess exposure, and provide practical recommendations on risk, valuation, and resolution options.Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, evidentiary motions, and legal memoranda with clear reasoning and support from relevant authority.Serve and respond to written discovery, prepare objections, and address discovery issues through meet-and-confer efforts and motion practice when needed.Take and defend depositions, including preparing outlines, organizing exhibits, and examining fact and expert witnesses.Appear at hearings and mediations, and support trial preparation by coordinating witnesses, preparing filings, and presenting organized advocacy.Communicate effectively with clients, carriers/adjusters, opposing counsel, and court personnel to keep matters moving and expectations aligned.Own case administration, including docketing deadlines, maintaining accurate case files, and managing workload priorities to meet court and client requirements.Required Skills:J.D. from an accredited law school.Active bar membership/licensure in Colorado.3–5 years of civil litigation experience.3–5 years of insurance defense litigation experience (auto, premises liability, general liability).Ability to manage litigation matters with appropriate independence, including case ownership and consistent deadline management.Experience conducting depositions, hearings, mediations, and/or trials.Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills, including motion practice and client-facing communication.Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and reliable follow-through.Preferred Skills:Licensure in Wyoming and/or Nebraska.Trial preparation or trial experience, including meaningful responsibility in courtroom proceedings.
