Non-Destructive Testing Instructor (NDT III+)
About the RoleNondestructive Testing Instructor Level III+ will include but are not limited to write and approve NDT procedures; interpret codes/specifications; train and certify Level I & II personnel; audit NDT programs; provide technical oversight; evaluate indications and acceptance criteria. While not all are required, group functions include NDT methods Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) and Visual & Optical Testing (VT).Education and Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, physical science, or related technical field preferred.Minimum documented NDT experience in accordance with ASNT Level III certification requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science: minimum 1 year (12 months) of applicable NDT experience. OR Two years of engineering or physical science study: minimum 2 years (24 months) of applicable NDT experience. OR No college degree: minimum 4 years (48 months) of applicable NDT experience.Experience must include hands-on inspection work equivalent to NDT Level II responsibilities in applicable methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT, VT, or ET.Current or previous ASNT Level III certification preferred or required depending on contract requirements.Demonstrated knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards including ASME, AWS, API, ASTM, NAS-410, and/or customer specifications.Experience developing, reviewing, and approving NDT procedures and techniques preferred.Ability to interpret inspection results and provide technical guidance to Level I and Level II personnel.Prior experience in aerospace, oil & gas, power generation, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports and certification documentation.Good leadership, mentoring and instructional skillsNo sponsorshipsSome relocation assistance may be available within the USNo third-party agencies
