Accounting Manager (Lead Accountant)Minimum of 1–2 days per week in-office in either San Mateo or Redwood Shores.A fast-growing, VC-backed, AI-enabled financial services firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to take ownership of the company's internal financial operations and help support its continued growth. Reporting directly to the CAO, this person will play a key role in managing and improving the company's accounting and finance processes.This is the top accounting and finance role within the organization, offering direct exposure to leadership and the opportunity to help build and scale the company's financial infrastructure from the ground up.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building structure, and operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where they can make a meaningful impact.What You'll Be DoingYou'll play a key role in maintaining the company's financial operations and supporting leadership with financial insights.Responsibilities include:Own and execute the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAPPrepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including budget vs. actuals, cash flow forecasting, and key variance driversLead FP&A initiatives, including annual planning, quarterly reforecasting, and long-range financial modelingDevelop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor financial and operational performanceManage customer invoicing and billing operations, including coordinating with internal teams to ensure accuracy and timelinessHandle client invoicing for subscription billing and reconcile billing and subscription-based paymentsOversee day-to-day collections and revenue processes, including timely follow-up with customersAnalyze revenue performance by employee and tax directorAssist with new employee onboarding through payrollSupport state filings and annual reportsPartner closely with the CAO on financial operations and strategic initiativesParticipate in financial analysis and operational projects as the company growsIdentify opportunities for process improvement and automation across finance workflowsHelp build and improve internal accounting processesWhat We're Looking ForStrong accounting backgroundComfortable owning the accounting functionExperience with subscription billing or payment platforms (Stripe experience is a plus)Highly proactive and self-directedSomeone who takes initiative and enjoys building structure in a growing companyStrong attention to detail with a process improvement mindsetCompensationUp to $150,000 base salaryEquity participation — all employees share in the company's successPlease send your resume in Word format to:Gabby OpsahlPremier Financial Searchgabby@pfssearch.comLet's Connect & Explore Your OptionsWe are actively hiring for a range of positions across multiple firms.
