Privately HeldAbout the RoleThe Company is in search of an Associate Vice President, Product Counsel with a focus on professional liability within the casualty-side P&C insurance sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of product development, including the drafting, revision, and maintenance of professional liability policy forms, endorsements, and coverage grants. This role requires a strong understanding of claims-made coverage structures, the ability to translate underwriting and business objectives into compliant coverage language, and experience in developing and negotiating manuscript endorsements. The AVP will also be involved in advising on coverage intent, exclusions, and conditions, as well as supporting new product development from concept to regulatory approval.Applicants must have a J.D. with active USA bar admission and a background in drafting or supporting casualty-side professional liability insurance products. The role demands a professional with a keen eye for detail, the ability to monitor legal, regulatory, and industry developments, and a proactive approach to ensuring market competitiveness. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, with a focus on specialty and financial lines products, and will be adept at coordinating with compliance and regulatory teams for state insurance filings.
