Hours: Saturday – Monday 6a - 6:30p - work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours

GENERAL SUMMARY
A CNC Operator attends to a computer numerical control machine to performs a variety of related tasks to support machining operations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Load and Tend CNC machines to perform various machine functions, such as turning, threading, drilling, reaming, and boring.
Makes necessary cutting tool offsets and adjustments as required to ensure quality is maintained in a day-to-day operation.
Performs a variety of inspection and gauging operations to ensure all quality standards and specifications are met.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls.
Responsible for visual and physical quality of the parts being loaded and unloaded.
Performs necessary maintenance of equipment, to include but not limited to, topping off fluids and cleaning equipment and area.
Must be able to respond professionally to process improvements and follow established safety procedures.
Working knowledge of blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece.
Completes inspection records and documents part quality.
Identify and replace any broken or worn tools and make tool offsets.
Workers are expected to meet and exceed predetermined daily, weekly, and monthly production goals
Must possess manual dexterity, cognitive reasoning and understanding for production work instructions, and must be able to perform repetitive tasks
Understanding of the use of key inspection tools (Micro-Hite, Calipers, Micrometer ETC)
Grind, file, or sand surfaces of metal items, utilizing a variety of hand/power tools, and machines.
Deburr parts as needed in addition to removing of defects and smoothing of uneven surfaces.
Move materials and maintain an organized clean work area
Maintains a safe, healthy work environment by complying with organization standards and legal regulations
ON THE JOB TRAINING PROVIDED
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
Basic computer and math skills required
Experience and ability with measuring tools, calipers, micrometers
Some experience in reading drawings is helpful
Knowledge of machine shop equipment and practice, specifically those involving metal cutting
Positive attitude, self motivated, communicate well and have the willingness and adaptability to work under vary conditions
Strong commitment to quality, productivity and team performance in the workplace
Working Conditions:
Continuous: standing, walking, lifting, bending, pushing/pulling and reaching
Frequent: kneeling, sitting, squatting, overhead work, fine and gross upper body motor movement
Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for breaks, lunch periods, and the occasional meeting.
Polishing and post machining finishing activities are regular and frequent, and these require a high degree of sanding, heavy polishing, and metal finishing that are combinations of fine motor activities and coarser work.
The incumbent is required to regularly lift, carry, bend, move, and manage materials weighing up to 45 pounds each on a regular basis.
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
