This position services patient needs by verifying insurance coverage. Performs administrative activities associated with maintenance of medical documentation and medical records. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.)Answers questions from customers, clerical staff, insurance companies, and physician officesAssures member's insurance policies (past and present) are accurately reflected in the AS400Demonstrates knowledge of insurance plan guidelines and the use of electronic systems for verification purposesExplains and collects co-pays, deductibles and other patient balances when neededIdentifies and resolved patient complaintsMakes patients fully aware of financial obligations and eligibility for programs that may provide financial aidProvide patient education regarding third-party coverage and liabilitiesReviews and approves documentation received by third parties, for submission to payer's for reimbursement of orders shippedUpdates tracking system with accurate and relevant informationUses electronic systems and payer websites for verification of insurance, authorizations, and referralsVerify customer benefits via phone, fax, and/or web portalPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsEmployment is contingent onBackground check (company-wide).
