We are currently seeking a Software Engineer Level 3 to support the design, development, and deployment of a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solution in a Linux-based HPC environment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking AI efforts supporting critical national security initiatives.Your RoleAs a Level 3 Software Engineer, you will work individually and collaboratively to design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems. These systems may include large-scale analytics, real-time systems, novel algorithm development, and data-driven platforms. You will support both legacy sustainment and forward-leaning modernization efforts—contributing to system design, integration, and performance optimization.What You’ll DoAnalyze user requirements to derive software design and performance needsDesign and develop new software or modify existing applications to improve functionality and performanceDebug software, correct defects, and integrate components into new or existing systemsImplement complex algorithms and develop event-driven and data-driven analyticsWork within Agile development environments using CI/CD pipelines and source control toolsCreate and maintain documentation, conduct code reviews, and execute software test proceduresLead or support software development teams, contributing to design trade-offs and process improvementEnsure quality control and compliance with technical standards throughout development lifecycleCore Technologies & SkillsLanguages: Python, Golang, C, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, PerlPlatforms & Tools: Linux CLI & shell scripting, Docker, PodMan, containerd, Kubernetes, Docker ComposeFrameworks: Spring, Kafka, LLM orchestration tools, queue management systemsDevOps & CI/CD: Git, GitLab CI, Prometheus, GrafanaDatabases: SQL, Elasticsearch, Vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone)AI/ML Focus: RAG pipelines, LLMs, embedding models, GPU-aware debuggingCollaboration Tools: Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira), Eclipse IDEOther: Cloud-based solutions, scientific analysis for software design, performance modelingQualifications:Minimum Required:Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph Citizenship: Must be a U.S. CitizenCandidates must meet one of the following:Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related) + 5 years of SWE experienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) + 7 years of SWE experience9+ years of professional experience as a SWE on similar programs of scope and complexityPreferred QualificationsExperience with distributed data processing (e.g., Spark, Dask, Ray)Experience with HTMX or HyperscriptFamiliarity with multi-node, multi-GPU model trainingUnderstanding of AI inference tools such as Nvidia NIM/TRITON or vLLMDemonstrated leadership in software engineering teams or technical mentorshipCompensation Range: $215,000.00 - $237,000.00*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role.
